Plans for the building of a residential Build to Rent scheme have been put forward to Sheffield City Council.

Three buildings, containing 268 apartments, as well as parking and other amenities, would be built on the side of the River Don.

The development would be within walking distance of Kelham Island, recent winner of the ‘Best Neighbourhood’ award.

The proposal has been designed by Whittam Cox, who previously built Dun Works, on Kelham Island, amongst other Sheffield student accommodation.

The area onto which this development would front is a conservation zone.

On the Whittam Cox website, director Ian Lawson said: “We’re delighted to be working with Brickland, Liv Group and the wider team on such a significant scheme in Sheffield. Our Build to Rent portfolio continues to grow along with our expertise in this ever evolving multi layered sector.”
