A man was arrested for attempted burglary in the Pitsmoor area in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A resident contacted South Yorkshire police at 1:15am after hearing people attempting to break into their garage.
The male was swiftly placed in custody. The male did not gain entry to the property and nothing was stolen.
In a press release South Yorkshire Police said: “Many people would have perhaps thought there was no point reporting this incident, as offenders did not manage to gain entry, but thanks to the report and subsequent action an arrest has been made possible.
We know that burglary is of great concern to the public and it is examples like this one which show the action we can take when incidents are reported to the police quickly.”
