Sheffield City Council has agreed to enforce stricter parking measures on the Wicker, in the wake of public complaints over drivers disregarding bus lanes, cycle lanes, and double yellow lines.
City ward councillor, Martin Phipps, took to twitter to address growing displeasure from those who travel on the Wicker and feel the situation is getting out of control.
Parking Enforcement officers are in the process of arranging for signs to be placed along the Wicker, famed for some of Sheffield’s best takeaways.
Further to this, Parking Enforcement Officers have been instructed to issue warning notices to any drivers found in breach of the rules.
Phipps first looked into the issue on the 4th October, and now hopes to have resolved it.
